The middle ages
Curriculum Objective: Students will examine the role of government and religion in medieval life and evaluate the importance of events that changed medieval Europe.
Thursday/Friday, March 20-21, 2014
Daily Objective: Students will demonstrate knowledge on the unit exam over the early, High, and late Middle Ages.
Today, we took the unit exam over the Middle Ages. After the exam, we continued watching the unit documentary. Most classes should only have 5-15 minutes left. All classes are to finish watching the unit documentary (URL below) on YouTube. The guided viewing worksheet is due on Monday. Every student should have a copy. It is attached below as well, just in case.
Homework: finish the last few minutes of the documentary - guided viewing due Monday.

Today are group presentations. Each group is scheduled to present today! If we run out of time, the last couple groups will be postponed until the following class period. Make sure you are ready to go! Each group member must have their copy of the rubric to turn in before presenting.
Homework: Gothic Cathedrals/10.4/Mapping History 12
*** On the Gothic Cathedrals, DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT do number #7. It is an extended activity, DO NOT complete it.

Today we took the unit map quiz (if absent, you need to get an ac-lab pass). Students had the period to finish the chapter projects. Projects are due at the end of the hour. Presentations will begin on Monday/Tuesday.

Today, Islam exams were returned. Due to the lack of time (snow days), students were given the opportunity to come in outside of normal class time to review the test independently. Students must do this by Friday if they wish to do so.
We reviewed the unit map as a class. Map quiz is on Thursday/Friday!
Laptops were available today for students to work with their groups on the project.
Homework: Guided Reading 10-2/Map worksheet/Timeline 13 - Due Thursday/Friday

Today, we completed a source reading to introduce unit material. We also began discussing the unit project. A thorough rubric is included
below. Students will work in groups to become experts on one section out of the textbook. Students will present the material in a formal
presentation, and teach the class about their section. Students had time to work on the first part of the project today. This project will continue for approximately one week.
Homework: worksheet 10-1/timeline 12 - Due Monday
If you were absent, you need to see Ms. Klein to acquire an Ac-Lab pass to complete the source reading.

Today we did STAD for the Middle Ages. The class discussed the terms in addition to the PowerPoint before going to the library computer lab. Students had individual study time working with the terms using http://www.quizlet.com. Students demonstrated their vocabulary comprehension on a formal quiz at the end of class.
If you were absent, you must see Ms. Klein to acquire an Ac-Lab pass to take your quiz.
